Del Sur Master-Planned Community Offers Diversity of New Homes for Sale

Del Sur master-planned community offers diversity of new homes for sale

SAN DIEGO (Oct. 31, 2011) – One of San Diego’s most diverse range of new homes for sale can be found at the master-planned community of Del Sur, where seven distinct neighborhoods showcase 17 model homes.

“For those looking for their first home, their last home, or anything in between, Del Sur has a range of floor plans to meet all of life’s stages,” explained Bill Ostrem, president and CEO of Black Mountain Ranch, developer of Del Sur. “Setting Del Sur apart even more is the variety of architectural styles interwoven throughout the community. You don’t see blocks and blocks of the same house, but instead different builders neighboring each other to create an interesting tapestry of homes.”

Del Sur’s five homebuilders also incorporate green home features to benefit homebuyers, including: low toxin paints and glues; low emission windows; and Energy Star appliances. Water conservation efforts in all homes include mandatory tankless water heaters and weather-based satellite irrigation systems. Twenty percent of all Del Sur homes incorporate solar power.

Located in the coastal hills of San Diego, a short drive north of state Route 56 and also close to Interstate 15, Del Sur neighborhoods range from attached homes at the most affordably priced Mandolin by Shea Homes to spacious 3,748-square-foot floor plans at Presidio by Standard Pacific Homes. Standard Pacific Homes also has new homes for sale at Carleton. California West Communities offers Valencia, where as many as six bedrooms are available.

In addition to Mandolin, Shea Homes San Diego is nearing closeout at Madeira at Del Sur. Final phase homes are now selling as well at Sentinels by Davidson Communities and at Bridgewalk by Standard Pacific Homes.

All Del Sur neighborhoods are unified by a sense of community enhanced by numerous events and amenities. Residents gather often for special events like the recent Fall Festival and summer concerts and movies in the park. Del Sur families also get together during their everyday lives at the community’s six neighborhood parks, five with solar-heated swimming pools. An off-leash dog park, some 18 miles of shared trails and acres of open space also bring Del Sur’s residents together daily.

Another hallmark of the community of Del Sur is its neighborhood schools. Del Sur Elementary and Del Norte High School are highly rated within the prestigious Poway Unified School District. According to the most recent Growth Academic Performance Index (API), Del Norte High School earned 864, the highest API score among all five Poway Unified School District high schools. In only its second API ranking, Del Sur’s hometown high school is at the top of its class.
